The booklet traces the history of the Ards estate from its occupation by the Wrays and the Stewarts to the arrival of the Capuchins in 1930. The chapter headings include: Life in the old mansion, The auction (1927), From manor house to Capuchin Friary, Novitiate and House of Theology, Life in the Friary, and Retreat House. The file also includes typescript and manuscript drafts of the text. Some of the photographs which appeared in the publication are extant at CA DL/5/1
